How to send drawings

The better we can read your design intent, the sharper the quote. Here's how to package your files for the fastest DFM and pricing turnaround.

Accepted file formats

FormatTypeNotes
.STEP / .STP3DPreferred format. AP203/AP214, full geometry + tolerance model recommended.
.IGES / .IGS3DAccepted. Surface-based; check for gaps after export.
.STL3DAccepted for CNC and 3D-print-style quoting. Chord tolerance ≤ 0.01 mm.
.DWG2D2D drawings with dimensions, GD&T and material callouts.
.PDF2DFlattened 2D drawings — include scale or dimension values.

What to mark on 2D drawings

  • Material specification and grade (e.g. 6061-T6, PC Makrolon 2805)
  • Critical dimensions with tolerances; GD&T per ASME Y14.5 / ISO 1101
  • Surface finish requirements (Ra values or SPI finish class)
  • Cosmetic surfaces marked "A", "B" or "C" with inspection angles
  • Threads, inserts and assembly interfaces fully specified
  • Quantity per order and expected annual volume

Our DFM feedback loop

  1. 01

Within 24 h: our engineers review geometry, materials and tolerances, then return an initial DFM sheet.

  2. 02

You confirm or revise; we update the quote the same day for minor changes.

  3. 03

Before tooling: final DFM sign-off with gate location, ejector marks and cosmetic surface plan.

  4. 04

During production: any manufacturability risk triggers a written notification, never a silent workaround.
